5ive Seasons Running Round – Listen and Love It

5ive Seasons has only released one song (so far): “Running Round.”

And, I can’t stop listening to it.

I’m not the kind of person to stay in the loop when it comes to music. While I’m up to date with movies, books, and video games, I’m usually several years behind when it comes to hearing popular songs.

I’m not trying to be a hipster; I just stick to my movie soundtracks and the occasional band my husband introduces me to because music is more of a pastime than a passion for me. I love it. I enjoy it. But, my day is often flooded with so many other things that music gets shoved to the side.

So for me to latch onto a song and listen to it until I know the lyrics by heart, you know it has to be good.

The Song

I first listened to this song on Youtube after a family member shared the link with me. I couldn’t wait to buy the song, but it wasn’t available until recently.

Here’s the original Youtube video:

Pretty fantastic, huh?

The Lyrics

I heard this song a few months ago, but then I got distracted with other things. Only recently did I remember that it existed.

For the past few days, I’ve been wracking my brain trying to remember the name of the band. I could remember the song lyrics, but Googling “Running Round” brings up a lot of the wrong hits.

I stumbled across it again by accident, and I was surprised at how few people had heard of the song. I figured since it was now available on iTunes and Amazon’s MP3 store that the lyrics would be available somewhere – but so far, nothing.

I figured if I listened to the song often enough, I could post the lyrics here. I’m not sure how accurate these are because I wrote down what I heard after listening to it several times over. I don’t claim ownership for this song or its lyrics in any way – I merely want more people to know about it because it’s truly a beautiful piece.

Running Round
Where have you gone?
And where did you go?
If I’ve done something wrong,
then please let me know.

I’ve ran for miles,
and I can run for days.
Don’t know why I’m still running,
why we went our separate ways.

Hey!

Gotta get outta here.
I’m tangled up in fear.
Don’t know where I am.
Oh, catch me if you can.

I’m running round,
I’m running round,
Oh I’m running runnin’ round.

I’m running round,
I’m running round,
Oh I’m running runnin’ round.

I’ve been kicked around.
I know the taste of dirt.
Falling on the ground
enough times it doesn’t hurt.

Laying on the ground,
looking up to the sky,
pity on myself
I was asking, wondering why.

Hey!

Gotta get outta here.
I’m tangled up in fear.
Don’t know where I am.
Oh, catch me if you can.

I’m running round,
I’m running round,
Oh I’m running runnin’ round.

I’m running round,
I’m running round,
Oh I’m running runnin’ round.

I’m running round,
I’m running round,
Oh I’m running runnin’ round.

I’m running round,
I’m running round,
Oh I’m running runnin’ round.

and I’ll keep running,
’til it’s you I’ve found.

Support Them!

This group may be small and they only have one song – but it’s incredible. I think they deserve the support for all their hard work and awesomeness. The song is available on iTunes and Amazon – you can even buy Running Round here.

Even if you don’t buy the mp3, I think you should spread the word about this song. They have such a unique, yet timeless style that feels like some of my favorite groups like The Weepies. I’d love to see this group do well and can’t wait to see what else they come out with.
