I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since my last post already! Time sure flies when you’re having fun!
The last couple of weeks have been completely lovely and happy. I’ve made it through the first three weeks at my job – and I’m still loving it. I love what I do, I love the people I work with, and I love feeling comfortable with my life right now.
I can’t think of any special events that have been going on in my life, other than the fact that Chris and I went swimming for the first time this summer. The weather has been really hot lately, so it feels fantastic to go to our local pool and cool off. I’m not a very good swimmer – I can barely float and I do a bit of dog paddling, but that’s because I’m still learning. Chris taught me to swim not long after we got married, and I’ve been slowly but surely getting better at it every time we go.
I haven’t even finished any good books lately – my work keeps me just busy enough that I don’t feel the need to listen to audio books all the time. So, I’ve been slowly making my way through Brandon Sanderson’s Way of Kings. I’m not done with it yet, but so far it’s pretty darn good.
However, I feel like I should keep you guys updated on what’s going on, since I know some of my family read my blog. Since I’m a bit scrapped for ideas, I thought I’d show you some our love notes from our fridge. We have a whiteboard that was originally for writing reminders like “buy milk” and “clean the bathroom.” But, eventually we just kept using it to write little love notes to each other. Sometimes the same note stays on our fridge for several days (or even weeks) before we bother to change it out.
Anyways, here are a few of the notes that you might see if you happen to stop by our little apartment.
Sorry about the glare on these pictures. The kitchen window shines right onto the whiteboard – even when I close the blinds. In case you can’t read it all, it says, “I love you so much, Jenni!!! You are my angel and my inspiration!”
Notes like this are almost enough to make me cry; they’re so sweet!
Also, my friend Tif contributed by saying, “I love you too Jenni.”
In case you didn’t know, Chris and I tend to compare each other to food – especially beans. This little note to Chris from me reads, “you’re better than Bush’s Baked Beans in a Burrito.”
To which Chris responded with a tiny yet adorable, “Dawww.”
I had a children’s song stuck in my head when I wrote this one. My replacement lyrics are probably not appropriate for children to be singing. “Spring has brought me such a nice surprise! A super sexy sweetie right before my eyes!”
A little while later, Chris wrote this cute little note: “Chris + Jenni 4 Evr”
And my latest note to my sweetie: “Chris is a hottie with a naughty body.” Oh yeah, he’s handsome and he’s mine. Hands off ladies! 😉
We’ll keep writing notes to each other, and when I collect another batch of them, I’ll post them up here, you know, in case you’re interested.
