Alright! I’ve made it through another week with my newborn, and I discovered that I can squeeze in some drawing time while I nurse. It’s not exactly the most liberating technique, but it gets the job done. I’m still adjusting to my new schedule, but I’m happy with what I’ve managed to achieve so far.
Recently, I made a free preschool printables page for the letter A. This week, I decided to make a page that encourages basic motor skills via cutting with scissors. Maybe by the time I create all the preschool printable pages I have in mind, my son will be old enough to actually use and enjoy them. But until I reach that point, I hope you and your child can have fun with these pages.
Coloring books and educational activities can cost a lot of money, especially if you have multiple children. I know what it feels like to live with a tight budget, so I made my preschool printables pages completely free to download.
Are you having difficulty with either of these formats? Reach out to me through my contact page. I will happily make these pages available in a different file type for your convenience. I want to make my art as accessible as possible.
Holding.a pencil, cutting with scissors, and managing buttons are all skills that children start to develop and perfect between the ages of 4 and 6. But thanks to excessive screen time, many children struggle with these basic motor skills. I’m hoping to give kids some extra practice with this simple cutting page.
With some adult supervision, your child can color in the kites, and then use safety scissors to follow the kites’ tails. I made the kite tails slightly curvy to challenge hand-eye coordination and precision. Of course, your child doesn’t have to perfectly cut along the curve lines – just let them have fun with it. If he or she makes a mistake, you can always print the page again as needed.
Did you like my kite cutting page? Check out my other preschool printables. I’m making all of my pages completely free to download. I don’t have a lot of pages yet, but I’ll slowly keep adding more over time.
If you want to support my art, you can purchase a preschool packet through my Etsy store. Currently I have numbers 1 through 3 available to buy as a way to keep my site running. Don’t feel obligated to buy anything at all, however! I just make the option available to those who want it.
