Try Cinnamon Maple Oatmeal Raisin Bread

I think my chaotic schedule with my newborn is catching up to me. I feel like I’m an hour of sleep away from losing my sanity. Yet despite the late night feedings and occasional blow-outs, I’m still tossing together bread recipes just for the heck of it.

I surprise myself sometimes.

This week I’m sharing my latest Cinnamon Swirl Maple Oatmeal Bread. It’s a mashup of several of my favorite recipes, so it’s simultaneously old and new.

It’s a Triple Threat

Although I’m always on the lookout for inspiration, I often find myself craving my favorite, easy-to-make breads. The familiarity and nostalgia recharges my batteries, and I don’t have to worry or stress about getting an already-mastered recipe just right.

When I made this recipe, I started with my simple honey oatmeal bread as a base. I liked the size and texture of the loaf, and oatmeal is a staple ingredient in my house. My brain then connected the oats to my usual bowl of oatmeal with maple syrup and raisins, and the two additional flavors seemed like a win.

But I wasn’t done.

The raisins and the brown sugar from my oatmeal reminded me of a variation of cinnamon roll that my mom used to make. I pulled that aspect into the bread to create my ultimate cinnamon swirl maple oatmeal raisin bread.

Yes, I know it’s a mouthful to say. But it’s also a very tasty mouthful.

Did You Try It?

I know my Cinnamon Swirl Maple Oatmeal Raisin Bread might seem like it can’t decide what it wants to be. But I absolutely love how it turned out, and it’s an amazing base for French toast. I bet if you tried it, too, you’d understand why my tired mom brain couldn’t get enough of this sweet loaf.

If you do try my recipe, please let me know about your experience – either at my bread blog or here in the comment section of my personal blog. Your feedback makes my day and keeps me energized in my efforts to create fun content and try new things.

If you think Cinnamon Swirl Maple Oatmeal Raisin Bread sounds too complicated or over the top, don’t worry. I have a simpler recipes that are just as tasty. Just take a look at my dessert breads category and go from there.
