I’m Going on Hiatus During the Holidays

Alright, Jennibee readers! I’ve given you all the heads up a few different times in a few different posts. Well now it’s official: this will be my last post this year. I am taking a break, so you won’t get any new content. I know, it’s sad. But I have my reasons.

If you just can’t get enough of my blog, feel free to go back and read my older posts. See how I’ve improved over the last few months and years. Throw some star ratings my way or add comments to recipes, tips, or suggestions to things you’ve enjoyed. I’ll still monitor my site from time to time, so I will still feel any extra love you send my way.

Why the Hiatus?

In case you were unaware, I am expecting a baby boy at the end of November. Juggling content for both my JenniBeeMine blog and my BreadByTheHour blog has been especially difficult. Over the last few months, I’ve struggled to find time and energy to bake, take photos, and write content while dealing with pregnancy symptoms.

Once my child is here, I’ll have even less time and energy to manage my blogs. My newborn will keep me plenty busy with nursing, nightly wakeups, and diaper changes. And of course, I want time to bond with my baby, so I’m going to snuggle and cuddle and squish my little man as often as I can during the holidays.

Happy Holidays

Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are just around the corner. In addition to my new baby, I’ll want more time to spend with my friends and family during the upcoming holidays. I have lots of baking, gifting, and eating to do, and I want to focus solely on the good times I’m having and not upcoming posts.

I’m not giving up on my blog entirely, however!

The last time I had a baby, my site crashed, and that set me back years. I lost a lot of content that was important to me. I’m only just now getting around to sharing recipes that I rediscovered in old files or written on the back of paper hidden in books. I don’t want to lose my sites all over again out of neglect.

To keep my site running, I will be checking regularly for comments and will run the occasional plugin update for WordPress as needed. Just because you don’t see new stuff doesn’t mean I won’t be there, quietly minding my blog and enjoying what my readers have to say.

When Will I Be Back?

Honestly, I have no idea when I’ll be able to post regularly. All attempts at scheduling and planning will likely go out the window as soon as my baby gets here. At the very least, I don’t plan to post any more recipes this year.

In an ideal world where a newborn sleeps and eats on time and I’m not permanently sleep deprived, I will join you all again with fresh ideas and content at the beginning of January. That might not actually happen, but that’s my hope. Just know that I’ll still find the magic in new experiences as I go along.

Wish me luck!

  • I made these rolls today. Used Bread Flour and used the whole 8 1/2 cups! I made them between 1.60 and 2 oz. And ended up with 38 of them! Haven’t had a chance to taste them yet but they look great and are light and fluffy!
