In case you missed the memo, I have been pregnant for the last few months. Fortunately, I’ve had a backlog of finished recipes to share with you, so I’ve managed to post every other week for a while. Unfortunately, I had to deal with a lot of morning sickness in my first trimester, so I’ve had to put trying new recipes on hold until I’ve felt better.
During my first trimester, I had to avoid a lot of my favorite go-to breakfast recipes, like my chocolate peanut butter oat smoothie. Sweet meals often left a weird taste in my mouth on a good day and left me feeling queasy on a bad day. However, I did have one smoothie recipe that left me feeling full without triggering my gag reflex: strawberry peach oat smoothies.
I don’t have a clever name for this smoothie. I figured I would go with a straightforward description of the exact ingredients in this recipe: strawberries, peaches, and oats (though I also use milk as a base). Because I hate the taste of bananas, I avoided them completely when throwing this recipe together.
Even without the stereotypical banana, this strawberry oat smoothie is thick, creamy, and delicious. It still has a mild, sweet flavor without tasting too sugary, and thanks to the oats, it’s a great source of fiber. I simply pop everything into a blender, and soon I have a yummy meal with minimal cleanup.
I love this strawberry peach oat smoothie, and it’s now a regular recipe in my rotation. My daughter frequently asks for this smoothie for breakfast or lunch, and I’m more than happy to indulge her because of its simple, yet healthy ingredients.
If you tried this recipe, don’t forget to leave a star rating or share the link on social media. If you have additional ingredients that you like to include in this smoothie, please let me know in the comment section below!
