I love making bread with sourdough starter. I love feeding my starter, and I love seeing how bubbly it gets throughout the day.
But let’s face it – sometimes it feels like my sourdough starter is taking over my kitchen. And I can’t possibly bake enough to keep up with the discard.
But hey guess what, I discovered that I don’t actually have to discard my starter at all – not if I manage things the smart way.
In this week’s BreadbytheHour.com post, I talk about how you can minimize waste and keep discard to a minimum. Better still, I talk about how you don’t have to discard your starter at all, if you don’t want to. Stop by and read the full article here.
As a bonus on my blog, I link back to my favorite sourdough starter discard recipes. To save you some effort, here are some non-bread recipes that I love to make again and again.
I’m slowly but surely adding my favorite recipes here at my blog. But I could definitely use some help from readers like you! If you have a recipe you want to see on my blog, feel free to contact me or share your recipe in the comments below!
